Bayern Munich are currently understood to favour a move for Luis Henrique over Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens.
The Bavarian giants will more than likely be in need of reinforcements on the left flank given that Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry have been tipped for exits this summer.
This comes ahead of an expected raft of changes within the playing squad as Max Eberl looks to get to grips with a growing wage bill.
Henrique, with a reported but unverified salary of €24.6k-a-week (according to Capology) at Marseille, would represent a step in the right direction.
Bayern in talks with Luis Henrique

Jamie Gittens certainly remains an appreciated quantity for Bayern’s recruitment team.
The Bundesliga leaders also have history for snapping up some of the best players to come out of the BVB talent factory.
However, the simple fact is that Luis Henrique’s comparative consistency and significantly lower price tag make him a more attractive transfer target at this stage.
To that end, Christian Falk exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider that Bayern Munich ‘are in talks’ with the Brazilian star.
“Bayern Munich are in talks with Luis Henrique. In fact, the Brazilian winger holds an advantage over another Bayern-linked star in Jamie Gittens, with the club firmly focused on Henrique. Gittens, by contrast, is off the shortlist,” BILD’s Head of Football said.
“That said, the chances of the Englishman being sold this summer are only getting bigger whilst Borussia Dortmund remain out of the Champions League spots. We’ve always talked about a price tag of €100m [£86.6m], but inside the club, they believe now – because his performances haven’t been so good in recent weeks – he’ll be fine to leave if they get about €60m [£52m].
“It’s clearly not what Marseille wants but, at the moment, Luis Henrique’s price on the market is around €25m [£21.6m] – so he’s cheaper!”
How does he compare to Gittens?
It’s worth pointing out that Henrique does have three years worth of development on his English counterpart.
Still, Sofascore’s statistical analysis would indicate that the Ligue 1 wide man has enjoyed a more impressive league campaign in 2024/25.

That’s quite a remarkable finding too given that the 23-year-old has spent a good portion of the season being played away from his more natural left wing position.
Henrique has only played on the left flank on 10 occasions this season (registering nine goal contributions in that time).
18 appearances spent on the right flank in a deeper role have proven somewhat harmful for the No.44’s output, with only eight goal contributions picked up.
Position | Goal contributions | Minutes per goal contribution |
Left-wing | 9 | 76.3 |
Right midfield | 8 | 205.12 |
We strongly suspect FC Bayern and Vincent Kompany will be very keen to return the attacker to his more productive position should he move to Säbener Straße this summer.
