Leroy Sane’s chances of securing a contract extension with Bayern Munich are improving by the day.
Speculation linking the 29-year-old with a summer switch to Premier League clubs like Arsenal have been rife throughout the 2024/25 campaign.
After a tough start to the season (four Bundesliga goal contributions before the turn of the year), however, the German international has once again proven his worth.
Nine goal contributions have been registered in 12 top-flight games (60% of his tally this term).
Sane had collected 109 goal contributions (59 goals, 50 assists) in 211 appearances (total) for the Bavarian giants since arriving in Munich in 2020.
Harry Kane & Jamal Musiala are pushing Bayern bosses

Christian Falk reports that the possibility of a new contract appears somewhat reliant on Sane accepting reduced wages.
Fortunately for the No.29, he has some powerful allies within the dressing room, in the form of Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala, which will surely prove advantageous in ongoing talks.
“Bayern Munich and Leroy Sané are in talks over a new contract. Sané wants to stay in Munich,” the Bundesliga insider wrote in his Fact Files column.
“Kane and Musiala are campaigning for him to get a new contract. His chances have improved, as he has performed very well recently.
“The question that remains: Will Sané accept a reduction in his salary? He currently earns €20m a year. If he does, it will be difficult for the interested Premier League clubs. FC Bayern currently hold the advantage.”
The right-sided winger is one of several Bayern Munich stars on contracts expiring in 2025.

Leroy Sane should sign contract extension
By all accounts, Sane’s performances since the turn of the year have been, for the most part, exemplary.
Yes, there are still some notable concerns over consistency and whether the footballer could replicate this form across the entirety of a campaign.
Presuming that he’s indeed open to a wage reduction, however, given the quality he obviously still possesses (not to mention his positional versatility) this should still represent an easy decision for player and club.
Given the likelihood that both Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry could depart in the upcoming summer window, we could do with limiting the scale of change in the forward line.
