The reality for FC Bayern is that exits are fundamentally necessary if they’re to clear enough room for Florian Wirtz’s potential arrival this summer.
The German international’s transfer is far from a guarantee for the Munich-based side, however, as things currently stand.
Nonetheless, their interest is well-established, along with that of incumbent Premier League champions Manchester City.
Christian Falk reported back in early March that the Sky Blues held a transfer advantage in the form of Giovanni Branchini’s involvement.
The agent, who previously worked with Bayern, is reportedly working to convince Wirtz to sign for Pep Guardiola’s men this summer.
Florian Wirtz has changed his mind

It was thought that the 21-year-old was destined for another year with Bayer Leverkusen, especially given that head coach Xabi Alonso looks set to stay put beyond 2025.
However, one report from Kicker claims that the footballer is ‘clearly considering’ whether or not to move on this summer.
That’s quite the shift compared to earlier in the season when the No.10 was prepared to extend his stay at Die Werkself in favour of advancing his personal development.
What is Bayern’s position?
Bayern Munich have been suitably coy over potential talks over the signing of Florian Wirtz in the upcoming summer transfer window.
When nudged on the subject on Tuesday, CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen refused to open up on negotiations with the Leverkusen star.
One gets the impression that we are preparing for something drastic in the next window. Particularly given that we’re set to sanction several departures this summer and have u-turned on the idea of keeping hold of Thomas Muller for another season.
This, Kicker reasonably suspects, is in anticipation of the club making a big push for Wirtz.
Bayern, for their part, were understood to be optimistic that they could beat out competition and maintain a storied tradition of snapping up the Bundesliga’s top German talents.
Only time will tell on that front.
