How Harry Kane’s family feel about Bayern future speaks volumes amid summer exit rumours

Harry Kane appeared a little perplexed by rumours linking him with a summer exit from Bayern Munich.

The former Tottenham striker made it clear, in his latest interview with ESPN, that his heart very much remains in Bavaria.

I’m extremely happy here. I think we have a fantastic team, fantastic coaching staff and I just feel like whilst I feel like I’m in the best condition, I wanna play at the highest level possible, and this is as high as it gets,” Harry Kane told the broadcaster.

“So I know a lot can change in football in a short space of time and things can happen, but ultimately my focus is here. I’m not thinking about any other league or any other team. And with football, I like to just go the flow and at the moment the flow is here at Bayern Munich.”

The 31-year-old (who turns 32 in July) is contracted to stay with the Bundesliga giants until the summer of 2027.

Christian Falk has corroborated Kane’s thoughts on his immediate future in football.

More to the point, the Bayern forward’s family are understood to be smitten with life in Munich – further dispelling speculation linking the footballer with an early exit this summer.

“The exit clause I revealed has created a lot of speculation. There were suddenly rumours about Manchester United, Arsenal or even a return to Tottenham,” the head of football at the BILD Group wrote in his Daily Briefing column.

“The fact is: FC Bayern are very happy with Harry Kane and Harry himself is also happy with FC Bayern.

“In response to the possibility of a transfer in the summer, I received feedback that he and his family feel very much at home in Munich. From a footballing perspective and also from a family perspective.

“Kane has realised at FC Bayern that he can win everything at this top club, which plays for every title every year (regardless of whether it’s the Champions League or Ballon d’Or).

“Even if he wins the title this season, the FC Bayern gene will continue to drive him on – once you’ve won a title, you get hungry for more.”

If the quality of the England international’s football is any indication – a whopping 33 goals and 12 assists have been registered in 38 appearances (in all competitions) – we won’t be in any rush to cut the relationship short either.

Vincent Kompany has cultivated a winning environment

It’s difficult to compare the English capital with life in Munich; in fact, it would be unfair.

The competitive landscape bears very little, if any, resemblance to Harry Kane’s time with Tottenham Hotspur.

Bayern Munich expect to perform on the biggest stage. The expectation is to secure silverware domestically and challenge abroad year in, and year out.

Vincent Kompany has no doubt played his part in restoring us to our perch at the top of the Bundesliga table.

If all goes to plan, the Belgian head coach will lead us to a 34th German top-flight title. It’s worth pointing out, tentatively perhaps, that the prospect of a sixth Champions League trophy is also on the cards this term.

Ultimately, Bayern have yet to give Kane any reason to leave. On the contrary, the argument for the immediate future is clear: It’s in our No.9’s interest to stay put this summer.

If the rumours surrounding the club bear more than a passing resemblance to the truth, we’re only set to strengthen in the upcoming window.
