Bayern Munich are now understood to be preparing a three-year contract extension for Leroy Sané.
The Germany international‘s current terms are due to expire in the summer, however, the Bundesliga giants and player are thought to be open to prolonging the relationship.
Likewise, the No. 10 has garnered plenty of support from influential teammates Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala, with the pair reportedly ‘campaigning’ to keep their teammate in Bavaria.
Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg confirmed on Monday evening that the 29-year-old is ‘eager’ to stay put at Säbener Straße for the foreseeable future.
Leroy Sané is ready to accept Bayern pay cut

In a potentially fatal blow to Arsenal’s hopes of signing Sané on a free transfer, Plettenberg reports that the right-sided forward is willing to accept a pay cut to remain with Vincent Kompany’s side.
The Sky journalist updated Bayern fans on X (formerly Twitter), noting that the Gunners haven’t been completely ruled out of the running for the former Manchester City star’s services.
Indeed, ‘fresh talks’ were held recently with Mikel Arteta’s Premier League title challengers, though potentially, it would seem, to no avail.
🚨🆕 Max Eberl is planning a new contract for Leroy #Sané. The board and supervisory board have been informed and are now open to it. The main reason: his performances have been increasingly convincing, and he is very eager to stay.

Max Eberl must reduce wage budget
Bayern’s director of sport, Max Eberl, has been told in no uncertain terms that he must find a way to ease the club’s financial burdens.
That might seem a little harsh considering we’ve got a considerably leaner wage bill compared to the likes of PSG and Real Madrid.
Club | Wage bill |
PSG | €658m |
Manchester City | €554m |
Real Madrid | €505m |
Barcelona | €476m |
Liverpool | €449m |
Bayern Munich | €430m |
Manchester United | €429m |

The likely departures of players like Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry, among others – plus a reduced salary for Leroy Sane – will no doubt go some way to meeting that objective.
But Bayern will be under even more pressure to invest smartly this summer should they fail to secure passage to the Champions League semi-finals and, ultimately, make it to the final being hosted at the Allianz Arena.
