Liverpool handed significant transfer boost for 69-goal Bayern forward as Arsenal fall behind

Kingsley Coman is expected to be one of several Bayern Munich stars to leave the club at the end of the 2024/25 season.

The French international will more than likely join Thomas Müller (contract expiring in 2025) as Max Eberl and Co. look to make significant cuts to the playing squad’s running costs.

With a contract not set to expire until 2027 – and the winger having entered his prime years in the sport – one might reasonably suspect the Bavarians could secure a reasonable transfer fee.

Coman has had a far-from-poor campaign at the Allianz Arena, registering 10 goal contributions in 34 games (at a rate of one every 158.8 minutes).

The Parisian has racked up 69 goals and as many assists over the course of 328 games played for Bayern.

The Premier League could be the No.11’s next destination this summer amid reported interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.

This should then help clear room for Bayern to sign a replacement, likely in the form of Marseille’s Luis Henrique.

The Merseysiders might be the more viable option of the two, however, in light of Christian Falk’s exclusive update with The Daily Briefing.

He said: “Kingsley Coman is still the No.1 player up for sale this summer.”

“I heard that Arsenal and Liverpool are concretely interested in the Frenchman, but that the Gunners aren’t quite as interested as their Premier League rivals.

“Liverpool have Coman on their shortlist, but it hasn’t developed to the point of there being offers or negotiations. They are looking at his situation closely.”

Much, of course, will depend on how Arne Slot’s men handle an already full-capacity left wing position between Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo.

Luis Diaz future will decide transfer

We can’t see a world in which the Reds’ Dutch winger opts to cut his Anfield stay short in the summer. Likewise, his new head coach appears more than satisfied with his talents.

Our money, then, would be on his Colombian competition who has been repeatedly linked with La Liga’s FC Barcelona.

Diaz’s father has made no secret of the fact he’d love to see the 28-year-old one day plying his trade in the Camp Nou.

That said, whether the Spanish giants will have the necessary funds it would take to prise the footballer away from Anfield remains a huge doubt. Let’s not forget that La Liga have made it expressly clear Barcelona lack the ‘financial capacity’ to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.

A move for Kingsley Coman this summer then looks a little unlikely – unless Liverpool are prepared to offload Luis Diaz to another suitor.
