Disappointment turned quickly into jubilation for FC Bayern after Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-2 draw with SC Freiburg on Sunday.
Harry Kane had appeared a little down after watching his team drop three points in a six-goal thriller at the Red Bull Arena.
Fast forward to Sunday, however, and there were celebrations aplenty inside Munich’s Käfer restaurant.
Now, all eyes turn to Bayern Munich’s upcoming clash with Mönchengladbach at the Allianz Arena – a fitting stage to receive the Bundesliga trophy (Meisterschale).
Manuel Neuer will be back

Manuel Neuer was an unused substitute in Bayern’s 3-3 draw with RB Leipzig at the weekend.
Jonas Urbig held down the fort, as he has for the last eight consecutive Bundesliga games.
However, his mentor is expected to be thrust back between the sticks come our hosting of Gladbach this coming Saturday (May 10). Importantly, Urbig can still expect to get senior minutes next term.
So, barring the unfortunate emergence of any fresh injury concerns, Vincent Kompany will have his captain on the pitch when Bayern are officially declared champions.
It will be Neuer’s 12th Bundesliga title since joining the club from FC Schalke in the summer of 2011.
Who is out injured for Bayern?
Bayern’s injury list remains pretty extensive ahead of the summer break.
The club’s need for defensive reinforcements has been laid bare in light of a backline decimated by injuries.
Dayot Upamecano, Alphonso Davies, Hiroki Itō, and, now, Kim Min-jae have been sidelined.
Jamal Musiala remains our most significant absentee after suffering a torn hamstring during a 3-1 win over FC Augsburg in April.
Injured Bayern players | Injury | Games missed |
Dayot Upamecano | Cartilage damage | 13 |
Alphonso Davies | Cruciate ligament tear | 13 |
Hiroki Itō | Metatarsal fracture | 12 |
Jamal Musiala | Hamstring tear | 6 |
Kim Min-jae | Achilles issue | 2 |
Raphaël Guerreiro | Torn muscle fibre | 2 |

Dayot Upamecano could soon return
Upamecano has been back running on the pitch. But it remains to be seen whether the Frenchman will return to the matchday squad at the weekend.
