Bayern Munich could be heading for a massive summer transfer window, and it is becoming increasingly clear that bolstering the forward department is a priority for them.
They could be prepared to pay in the region of £126m, the asking price set by their rivals.
With Leroy Sane heading for the exit, Vincent Kompany might need one more player in the forward areas, even if they sign Wirtz, and they have already earmarked a potential option.
Bayern Munich keen to sign Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku

According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Christopher Nkunku will leave Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
A decision has been made for the 27-year-old to exit Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis, and he won’t have a shortage of admirers.
During the January transfer window, Max Eberl held concrete talks with Nkunku, but Bayern weren’t willing to pay €70m (£60m) for him.

Christian Falk reported that Nkunku would still be interested in moving to Bayern, but he is checking on other options as well.
Arsenal are reportedly in the race to sign Nkunku, who joined the Blues two years ago from RB Leipzig.
After a disappointing season, the Gunners are desperate to boost their firepower, and Mikel Arteta has earmarked the Chelsea forward as a potential option.
Christopher Nkunku and Michael Olise could forge strong partnership
Nkunku has struggled to feature regularly in Enzo Maresca’s first team, and his path has been blocked by his teammate Cole Palmer.
He has been playing out of position, and the move has clearly not worked for him. It is intriguing to note that Bayern are still monitoring his situation, and they could get him at a reduced price, for around £35m.
At Leipzig, he netted 58 goals in his final two seasons, and he should be able to replicate those numbers in the Bundesliga once again.
Michael Olise has enjoyed a terrific debut campaign – 12 goals and 15 assists in the Bundesliga – and he would benefit from playing alongside Nkunku, who has outstanding passing abilities. He is good at delivering through balls, and Olise would definitely appreciate that.
Notably, in his final campaign in German football, the now Chelsea star created eight big chances (compared to one in 2024/25).

Nkunku managed only three Premier League goals this season in just nine starts, and he would be desperate to revitalise his career once again. Bayern must not miss out on the opportunity to get him on board at a decent price.
