Bayern Munich are interested in signing Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze, but they could face strong competition from Manchester United.
The German champions were heavily interested in signing Florian Wirtz, but he chose to move to Liverpool instead.
Bayern see Eze as a potential alternative to Wirtz, but Manchester United are also in the race.
The Red Devils are looking to bolster their squad following a dismal 2024-25 campaign, and per ESPN, see Eze as a perfect fit.
Bayern Munich and Man Utd battle for Eberechi Eze

Man Utd are anticipating a massive squad rebuild in the summer, and they are looking to add Eze and his club teammate, Adam Wharton, to their squad.
According to a recent report from Bild, Eze has also emerged as one of Bayern’s key targets this summer.
Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo has been linked with a move, while Bayern retain interest in Kaoru Mitoma and Rafael Leao.
Bayern were willing to pay a massive sum for Wirtz, who was valued at around £125 million.
Eze, on the other hand, would cost around £60m, plus £8m in bonuses. He has a contract at Selhurst Park until 2027.
While it is still a massive transfer fee, at least it is way cheaper than Wirtz’s value.
Bayern Munich hold advantage over Man Utd in signing Eze
The 26-year-old England international enjoyed an impressive 2024-25 campaign, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists in 43 appearances for Crystal Palace.
He scored the only goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester City as Palace won the prestigious competition.
While Palace would love him to stay beyond the summer, Eze could be tempted to join a top side. Man Utd have financial power (despite their on-field struggles) to lure Eze away from Selhurst Park, but Bayern can offer him Champions League football.
Moreover, Bayern have a good relationship with Palace, having signed Michael Olise last season. The Frenchman can act as a secret agent for Bayern by putting in good words for the German champions.
A move for Eze cannot be completely ruled out, but adding a proper left-winger is key. Moreover, we need to sell Kingsley Coman, Raphael Guerreiro, Sacha Boey, Bryan Zaragoza, Joao Palhinha, Minjae Kim, and Mathys Tel to free up space for new arrivals.
