Leroy Sané will need more time to consider his future at Bayern Munich.
The Germany international has found himself at the centre of a transfer saga, with his contract due to expire this summer.
A Premier League move still very much remains an option for the 29-year-old right winger.
Sané registered 13 goals and six assists in 45 games (across all competitions) in the 2024/25 season.
UPDATE: It is now official: Leroy Sané will be a part of Bayern’s Club World Cup squad. The footballer will fly over to the United States on Thursday.
Leroy Sané will likely make a decision during Club World Cup

Leroy Sané is now understood to be unlikely to make a final decision about his future before Bayern travel to the Club World Cup.
The Bavarian giants have planned to bring the attacker with them for the impending USA tour, as his contract runs until June 30 anyway.
This would allow Sané to use the tournament’s group stage to calmly consider his future, specifically whether he wants to stay put at FC Bayern or seek a transfer.
The former Manchester City star has already let Bayern’s contract ultimatum pass.
Who wants to sign the Bayern winger?
It’s our understanding here at CF Bayern Insider that Arsenal remain interested, as do Okan Buruk’s Galatasaray.
London rivals Tottenham had also expressed some interest in bringing Sané to the English capital. However, it would seem that the Gunners have stolen a march for this transfer.
The player, for what it’s worth, would be keen on a move to London, not least of all due to the fact that it is the preferred destination of his partner, Candice Brooks.
Arsenal need offensive reinforcements
Mikel Arteta’s men fell woefully short of Premier League winners Liverpool when it came to firepower.
Arsenal registered 17 fewer goals than their English top-flight competitors, with Mo Salah contributing 29 league goals in 38 games.
Not a single Arsenal forward (never mind winger) came close to touching this total in 2024/25.
Players | Games | Minutes | League goals | Minutes per league goal |
Mo Salah | 38 | 3,380 | 29 | 116.55 |
Bukayo Saka | 25 | 1,736 | 6 | 289.33 |
Gabriel Martinelli | 33 | 2,299 | 8 | 287.37 |
Leandro Trossard | 38 | 2,551 | 8 | 318.87 |
Leroy Sané | 30 | 1,634 | 11 | 148.54 |
Comparisons with Salah might feel a little harsh – the Egyptian, after all, is a generation-defining winger.
However, it’s rather telling that Arsenal-linked Leroy Sané has a goalscoring rate (in league competition) that far outstrips what the Gunners’ current array of forwards produced last term.
In Saka’s defence, the Englishman is Arteta’s most creative presence in the squad (despite limited minutes in 2024/25). But goal threat remains a clear area in need of addressing.
Ideally, for Bayern, of course, Max Eberl will look to convince Sané that his future should remain in Munich.
