‘Bayern need a big name’: Eberechi Eze message sent ahead of Premier League tussle

Premier League clubs have been given a big boost in their reported pursuit of Eberechi Eze.

FC Bayern have been linked with a move for the England international.

However, fresh reporting has cast some doubt over the possibility of the Bavarians pushing for the 26-year-old’s signature any time soon.

Eze enjoyed a productive 2024/25 campaign with Crystal Palace, amassing 25 goal contributions (14 goals, 11 assists) in 43 games (across all competitions).

If reports are to be believed, both Arsenal and Liverpool are among the clubs keeping an eye on Eze this summer.

With the Reds now set to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, however, we’d question whether there’s any serious intention of escalating said interest.

For the Gunners, then, at least, there is the prospect of a clearer path to signing the Palace star. That’s especially the case whilst Eberechi Eze remains low on the priority list for FC Bayern, according to Christian Falk.

Eze is still not high on Bayern’s list. He is a candidate like SC Freiburg’s Ritsu Doan. Bayern Munich are interested, but neither are top stars,” the head of football at the BILD group exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.

“After missing out on Florian Wirtz to Liverpool, Bayern need a big name. That’s not Eze or Doan.

“The latter is an especially hot topic at Eintracht Frankfurt. The transfer should have been finalised long ago. However, in addition to FC Bayern, several clubs from the Premier League are also interested.”

Bayern Munich have bigger priorities than Eberechi Eze

With the greatest of respect to a classy player like the Eagles’ playmaker, Bayern have clear priorities to tend to:

  • Clear room in the squad and budget by selling players
  • Bolster the forward line with a big transfer
  • This may look like one of Nico Williams, Bradley Barcola, or Rafael Leão

Florian Wirtz would have been a clear exception in this case as a versatile attacking midfielder who can also play on the left flank. Not to mention being Germany’s most exciting young talent not currently on FC Bayern’s books.

For the time being, however, we’d take any reporting on Bayern’s pursuit of Eze with a pinch of salt.
