Bayern could make “serious” £50m bid for 25y/o attacker – report

If you are not living under the rocks, you might be well aware that Bayern Munich are looking to bolster their attacking areas this summer.

The Bavarian club have been linked with a host of attackers already, and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao has emerged as one of their major targets.

Bayern could make a “serious” move for Leao, as per Gianluca Di Marzio, and could bid in the region of £42m-£50m for the 25-year-old attacker.

Di Marzio claims that AC Milan are not looking to sell Leao this summer, unless they receive an offer which they find hard to turn down.

Leao was involved in 16 goal contributions last season for Milan, and the Rossoneri could demand a lot more than what Bayern are reportedly planning to offer.

Christian Falk told CFBayern that Nils Schmadtke, squad planner of FC Bayern, is a big fan of Leao, but the Bavarian club haven’t made an approach.

“I was first told by the club that the interest in Rafael Leão was not hot,” the head of football at BILD exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.

“There were reports that Bayern met Leao for negotiations in Munich. There were rumors that Bayern would soon make an offer.

“So far, nothing has been confirmed. Nils Schmadtke, squad planner of FC Bayern, is a supporter of Leao. But for Bayern the price tag of €100m from Milan is too high for Bayern.”

Bayern were willing to pay a massive transfer fee for Bayern Leverkusen attacker Florian Wirtz, who is closing in on a move to Liverpool. It remains to be seen if they would be willing to match AC Milan’s asking price for the Portuguese attacker.

Could Bayern use Kim Min-Jae as part of the deal for Leao?

Earlier this week, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that AC Milan is looking to sign a new centre-back this summer, and they have earmarked Bayern’s Kim Min-Jae as a potential option.

Min-Jae is one of the players that Bayern could offload in the summer if the right offer comes in.

In that case, Bayern can look to include the South Korean as part of the deal to sign Leao.

Apart from Leao, Bayern are also interested in signing Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo, but it won’t be easy to lure him away from Liverpool.
