The Leroy Sane transfer saga has taken another dramatic turn after Arsenal have concrete steps in signing the Bayern Munich winger.
Sane will become a free agent in the summer, and he has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks.
Spurs were thought to be leading the race to sign the 29-year-old winger, but it appears Arsenal are looking to hijack the transfer.
Arsenal back in the race for Leroy Sane

Last week, CFBayern Insider Christian Falk reported that Sane’s agent, Pini Zahavi, wants his client to move to Tottenham.
Bayern have held talks with Zahavi regarding the extension of Sane’s current deal, but it appeared that Spurs were in a strong negotiating position.
Spurs will play in the Champions League next season, and they hold concrete interest in Sane. Moreover, Daniel Levy (Tottenham CEO) is thought to be a good friend of Zahavi.
Last month, The Times reported that Mikel Arteta is looking to sign a new winger and has earmarked the former Manchester City attacker as a potential option.
Falk has provided a fresh update today. He told CFBayern that Arsenal have started talks with Zahavi over a potential deal for Sane.
Leroy Sane close to Bayern exit?
With every passing day, it appears that Sane’s chances of signing a new contract at Bayern are slim. Instead, he is keen to move to the Premier League again.
Sane has scored 61 goals and registered 55 assists in all competitions, but Bayern fans probably will not be too disappointed if he leaves the club.
Signing a new left winger is a priority for Bayern, and the German giants have been linked with Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo. Rafael Leao could be another option for Bayern.
Sane wants to stay close to his family, and therefore, a move to London appeals to him.
The two north London clubs are likely to battle for Sane, and his exit from Allianz Arena looks increasingly likely.
