Bayern Munich will participate in the Club World Cup later this month, and the latest injury news should frustrate Vincent Kompany.
Dayot Upamecano, Alphonso Davies, Hiroki Ito and MinjaeKim all picked up injuries last season. Amongst them, Davies was the worst sufferer, as he picked up a cruciate ligament tear.
The cruciate ligament injury can sideline a player for several months, and the recovery can be extremely painful. Sometimes, it can be a career-threatening injury.
Latest injury updates on Alphonso Davies and Minjae Kim

Davies missed 13 games last season due to injury, and he is still a few months away from returning to training.
Prior to the Champions League final at the Allianz Arena, many former players, including Luis Figo and Franck Ribery, created an indoor competition – the “Ultimate Champions Legends Tournament”.
Davies, who picked up the injury in March, paid a surprise visit. The 24-year-old revealed to Bild that he hopes to return to training around November.
The left-back was very depressed when the injury took place. He has now revealed that his rehab is going smoothly.
MinJae Kim is also likely to be absent for a while. The centre-back has been ordered to take a long break, until June 15.
The inflammation on his left Achilles tendon has now become severe, and he will not be fit for the start of the new FIFA tournament.
More problems for Minjae Kim
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Minjae, as he is one of the players who Bayern could sell in the summer if they receive the right offer.
The 28-year-old defender has been struggling with Achilles tendon problems since October 2024. He hardly got rest, and as a result, his inflammation didn’t subside.
What has been really worrying for Bayern fans is that he is now feeling problems in his right leg due to excessive strain.
Eric Dier will leave the club to join Monaco. Dayot Upamecano is in the final stages of his rehabilitation, while Ito is still out for months.
Bayern have bolstered their defensive areas already by signing Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen. He will join us for free from July, but Kompany wants to take him to the Club World Cup. So, Bayern will probably pay a nominal fee for Tah.
