Bayern now exploring deal for £84m attacker scouted extensively by Arsenal – report

Bayern Munich are showing keen interest in signing Paris Saint-Germain attacker Bradley Barcola, but they could face strong competition from Arsenal.

The Bavarian giants are desperate to sign a new left-winger this summer, and they have been linked with a host of players already.

Arsenal are also keen to bolster their attacking areas, and the north London giants are willing to spend big on a quality forward.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with Nico Williams and Rodrygo, but it appears they are also in the race for Barcola.

Earlier this month, sources at Caughtoffside claimed that several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, are checking on Barcola.

Arsenal have scouted the 22-year-old Frenchman extensively. Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are also in the race for his signature.

PSG are reluctant to sell Barcola, who scored 22 goals and provided 19 assists last season, helping the Parisiens win the historic treble.

Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has now claimed that Barcola has emerged as a “top target” for Bayern, as they seek a high-profile winger.

Bayern are “actively exploring a potential transfer” for Barcola but it won’t be easy to prise him away from the French capital.

Christian Falk has informed CFBayern that, while Barcola remains on Bayern’s list, Nico Williams is their top priority target this summer.

Nico Williams is still top priority for Bayern

The exciting winger joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 and has become a key player for the club.

The French outfit value him at over £84 million, and it would take a massive offer to lure him away from PSG.

Known for his devastating pace, trickery and athleticism, Barcola can become a real superstar in the future, and it does not come as a surprise that clubs like Bayern and Arsenal are vying for his signature.

Bayern are keen to sign Williams from Athletic Bilbao. Max Eberl views Williams as a “dream signing” for Bayern, but his salary demands could prove to be a major stumbling block.

The German champions are also interested in Liverpool attacker Cody Gakpo.

It will be interesting to see if Bayern come up with a formal bid for any of these players in the coming weeks. They also need to offload players like Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman to free up space for new arrivals.
