Tottenham are closing in on an agreement with FC Bayern over the transfer of Mathys Tel.
The 20-year-old spent half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan with Premier League outfit Tottenham.
He registered four goal contributions (in all competitions) in 20 appearances after his arrival in North London on February 3.
Tel’s contract with Bayern Munich expires in the summer of 2029.
Mathys Tel could soon sign for Tottenham

Bayern Munich could soon get their wish: a permanent deal for a forward who otherwise looks set to struggle for game time in Bavaria.
Tottenham and FC Bayern are close to an agreement, with the transfer fee understood to be around €35m [£29.7m].
Spurs did not trigger the clause included in his loan deal, which is said to number at €45m [£38.2m] (plus the €10m loan fee).
How much did FC Bayern initially want for Tel?
It’s a figure that will fall just shy of the new range Bayern’s recruitment team had been prepared to negotiate at.
The club had been willing to negotiate at a lowered asking price of £30m-33m for Mathys Tel.
The bigger picture for Bayern’s summer transfer window
Max Eberl and Co. cannot pursue their top targets this summer without first raising investment.
The departure of Leroy Sané – whilst regrettable on a sporting level – will help with that aim, enabling Bayern to position the German international’s wages towards a top new signing.
Tel’s impending departure amid ongoing talks with Tottenham will likewise be beneficial. Although, there’s no question it’s a slight shame that the Bundesliga champions will miss out on their ideal valuation of €60m [£51m].
This had been included in the striker’s loan deal, as we reported back in April.
Regardless, FC Bayern will welcome the opportunity to offload some deadwood and plump up their coffers.
