Report: £84m Arsenal target would be “dream” signing for Bayern, contacts made already

Bayern Munich have been exploring several options for their attacking areas, but they have faced disappointments so far.

The German champions have been linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola, who is being chased by several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal.

The Gunners, like Bayern, are looking to add a quality winger to their ranks, and they have scouted Barcola extensively.

Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal had been challenging for the Premier League title for the past three seasons, but they couldn’t cross the finishing line.

The Gunners probably need one or two top-quality additions that will help them achieve their targets, and Barcola is definitely someone who can improve their squad.

Barcola scored 22 goals and provided 19 assists last season, and helped the Parisiens win the historic treble.

Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg previously claimed that Barcola had emerged as a top target for Bayern.

Fabrizio Romano, on his YouTube channel, further added that PSG are not looking to sell the 22-year-old attacker, as they consider him an important part of their long-term project.

Christian Falk has informed CFBayern that Barcola would be a “dream” signing for the club. The player’s camp has given the German club encouragement over a potential move, although PSG appear to be reluctant to sell him.

“He would be Bayern’s absolute dream player, but PSG does not want to let him go and is not dependent on income. The management of Barcola informed Bayern that PSG want to sell the player,” said Falk.

Almost impossible to sign Barcola

Bayern need quality attackers for the next season, as they will be without Thomas Muller and Leroy Sane. They wanted to sign Florian Wirtz, but he chose to join Liverpool.

The Bundesliga champions are heavily interested in signing Nico Williams, but as it stands, he is reportedly set to move to Barcelona.

Barcola joined PSG from Lyon in 2023. The French outfit value him at over £84 million, and it would take a massive offer to lure him away from PSG.

Bayern are checking other options, with Liverpool duo Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz emerging as major targets for them.

Meanwhile, Brighton and Hove Albion winger Kaoru Mitoma is no longer on their transfer shortlist.
