Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies has shared a positive fitness update.
The left-back picked up a horrific cruciate ligament tear last season in March, and missed the Champions League quarter-final matches against Inter Milan, as well as the final eight games in the Bundesliga.
The 24-year-old picked up the injury whilst on duty with the Canadian national team for their CONCACAF Nations League matches.
What Alphonso Davies has said about his recovery

We all know that recovering from an ACL injury is really painful, and it can sideline a player for several months.
Davies revealed back in June that his rehab was going smoothly and he expected to return by November at the earliest.
The Canadian defender also admitted that he was mentally depressed when the injury took place, but he did not stray too far away from the pitch. He attended the Champions League final between Inter and Paris Saint-Germain at the Allianz Arena.
The defender has now revealed that his knees are getting better, and his muscles are developing as well.
Davies said on Twitch, as relayed by Bayern & Germany X handle (@iMiaSanMia): “I’m happy. My knee is getting better, my muscles are coming back.
“So I’m happy with everything that’s going on right now with injury. I’m happy to be back on the pitch soon. There’s still a little bit to go, but for me it’s soon, considering where I was before.”
Bayern injury update on Jamal Musiala
Apart from Davies, Bayern will also miss the services of Jamal Musiala for the start of next season.
Musiala suffered a broken leg and a dislocated ankle during Bayern’s Club World Cup defeat against Paris St-Germain.
The 22-year-old winger is expected to be out for a long time, but he is making good progress on his recovery.
He has already undergone a successful surgery, and everyone is hopeful that he could return to the first team before the end of the year.
