Bayern Munich have reportedly made an enquiry about signing Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto in the summer window.
The Blues will have to sell some of their first-team players this summer to avoid punishment from Europe’s governing bodies for breaching their financial rules.
Along with selling some of their fringe players who are not part of Enzo Maresca’s long-term plans, Chelsea also need to offload a few players who took part in last season’s Conference League in order to register new players for the Champions League this season.
Could Malo Gusto be one of them?

Last month, journalist Simon Phillips reported that Bayern had made an approach to sign Gusto.
Christian Falk told CFBayern Insider that Bayern were not actively trying to sign Gusto, but the situation with Sacha Boey remains open.
It appears that the Bavarian club are still in the hunt for the 22-year-old right-back, and as per L’Equipe, they have made an enquiry about him.
Gusto joined Chelsea in January 2023 for a fee of £26.3m, and has become an important player for the side. However, there are suggestions that he could drop down the pecking order behind Reece James, who is now fully fit.
The French full-back has a contract at Stamford Bridge until 2030, and doubts remain whether Chelsea would at all be willing to sell him, unless the price is too good to turn down.
Do Bayern need to sign Gusto?
Bayern are desperately looking to sign a new winger this summer, and that’s their priority.
Apart from that, they are also keen to sign a new centre-back this summer, and have been linked with Chelsea’s Renato Veiga.
The German champions have three right-backs at the moment, and they are well-stocked in that department. It’s luxury for them, and even if they offload Sacha Boey, there’s no need to move for Gusto.
