Bayern submitted a €40m [£34.6m] bid (plus €5m in add-ons) for Nick Woltemade.
The Bundesliga champions are hoping to reinforce their forward line this summer.
The German international is understood to be one of two very serious targets for the club, including Liverpool left winger Luis Diaz.
This follows an opening bid Bayern submitted for the Colombian worth €52m [£44.8m].
Bayern submit bid for Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade

VfB Stuttgart, we understand, have rejected FC Bayern’s offer for Nick Woltemade.
That’s far from surprising, of course, given the general expectation remains that Stuttgart will be looking for an amount closer to €80m [£68.9m].
The club’s head of sport, Fabian Wohlgemuth, again confirmed this week that Stuttgart will fight to keep hold of Woltemade this summer.
Woltemade kept impressing at the U21 Euros
With nine goal contributions in five appearances at the UEFA U21 Euros, Woltemade more than built on an impressive 2024/25 campaign.
The 23-year-old fell short at the final hurdle, failing to make a decisive impact against Harvey Elliott’s England U21s.

That’s not to take anything away from the Stuttgart star, who was labelled an ‘incredible player’ by Elliott after the final clash.

What would the Bundesliga striker bring to Munich?
Don’t let Woltemade’s goalscoring rate fool you; he’s also a remarkably creative presence in the Stuttgart forward line.
Able to drop deep and progress play with his remarkable close control and dribbling abilities – despite standing at 6′ 6″ – there are multiple facets to the German’s game.
FBref’s statistical analysis places the footballer in the upper echelons of attackers in Europe’s top five leagues for xAG (97th percentile) and shot-creating actions (97th percentile).
That doesn’t come at the expense of goal threat either, with Nick Woltemade registering 8.82 touches in the opposing penalty box per 90.
There is, inevitably, still some work to do to boost his goalscoring potential (ranking in the 69th percentile for non-penalty xG).
However, there’s unquestionably a seriously talented player in there who is worth an elite club’s time. Fortunately for FC Bayern, Woltemde has already made it clear that he’s keen on a switch to Munich.
