‘I expect him to…’ – Club manager makes transfer admission on £68m Liverpool and Bayern target

Bayern Munich may have missed out on signing Nico Williams, but the German champions will be elated if they can secure a deal for Bradley Barcola.

The 22-year-old has emerged as a prime target for a host of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, but Paris Saint-Germain have shown no desire to sell their prized asset.

Liverpool could be looking to sign another forward in the summer following the tragic death of Diogo Jota, who lost his life in a car accident this week.

Ahead of Bayern Munich’s FIFA Club World Cup clash against PSG, Luis Enrique has shared his thoughts on Barcola’s future.

Bayern have been heavily linked with a move for Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, but the Reds have made it clear that they do not want to enter into any negotiations for the player.

The German giants are also interested in signing Diaz’s Liverpool teammate, Cody Gakpo. He is a personal favourite of Max Eberl, but doubts remain whether the Reds will be interested in selling the duo at all, especially after Jota’s passing away.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Barcola, who is valued at around £68m.

Christian Falk previously told CFBayern that Barcola would be a dream signing for the club.

The winger has recently switched his agent, and his new agency is well-connected with Bayern, which gives the German club an advantage in the race.

Enrique has admitted that he wants Barcola to stay. The PSG boss said (h/t Kerry Hau): “We like the fact that our players are interesting to other clubs.

“But he’s one of those young players we’ve been banking on. He’s had an outstanding season. I expect him to play here for many more years, and I think he wants to. So I have no doubt he’ll remain our player.”

Barcola unlikely to leave PSG

Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg claimed last month that PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi had informed Bayern that Barcola is a key part of their project.

At the moment, it looks like it will be really difficult for Bayern or Liverpool to lure Barcola away from Parc des Princes, but a massive bid can change the situation.

Bayern could reignite their interest in Barcola if they fail to land either of the Liverpool wingers.
