Chelsea eye move for 28y/o Bayern player in swap deal transfer – report

Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in three Chelsea players this summer.

The German champions have been linked with moves for right-back Malo Gusto, versatile defender Renato Veiga, and attacker Christopher Nkunku.

Chelsea need to trim their bloated squad, and Enzo Maresca would be more than happy to offload players who are not part of his plans.

One such player is Veiga, but the Blues have found a way to secure an exciting transfer that suits all parties involved.

Earlier this month, Fabrizio Romano claimed that Veiga can leave Stamford Bridge on a permanent deal.

The 21-year-old joined Chelsea from FC Basel in the summer of 2024. He was sent on loan to Juventus last season, and the Blues are most likely to offload him.

The versatile defender does not appear to feature prominently in Enzo Maresca’s plans.

Bayern have reportedly earmarked Veiga as a potential option for the centre-back role, but they need to sell Kim Min-jae first.

According to a report from TuttoMercato, Min-jae could be on his way out of the Allianz Arena, and Chelsea would be interested in signing him.

Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid have also shown interest in the centre-back, but Chelsea have proposed the idea of a swap deal, with Veiga moving in the opposite direction.

The swap deal would be ideal for both clubs

Min-jae is one of the players who could be sold by Bayern this summer. Despite featuring heavily last season, he failed to make an impact under Vincent Kompany.

The 28-year-old was completely ignored by Kompany during the Club World Cup, and he is likely to further drop down the pecking order following the arrival of Jonathan Tah.

Min-jae would be able to play in the Champions League next season if he were to move to Chelsea. The deal, in theory, should suit all parties involved.
