How much Bayern are willing to pay for Luis Diaz as ‘final’ bid expected this week

The next few days will be crucial for Bayern Munich.

The German champions will try to lure Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz away from Anfield, and we could see some interesting developments.

The Reds have already rejected two bids from Bayern, as they view Diaz as a key player under Arne Slot. However, they may be willing to offload if the offer is too good to refuse.

Diaz has a contract at Anfield until 2027, but he has already communicated to Liverpool his desire to move to Bayern.

Bayern initially offered a fee of around €52m [£44.9m], which was rejected instantly.

It was followed by a report from David Ornstein at The Athletic, where he claimed that FC Bayern made an offer of €67.5m [£58.4m] bid for Diaz. However, it did not match Liverpool’s valuation.

Fabrizio Romano has now suggested that Bayern are expected to submit an ‘important’ offer this week. If the Reds show a willingness to negotiate, then Bayern would be more than happy to find a way to complete the player’s signing.

According to a report from Kicker, Bayern are expected to offer more than €70m [£60m] for the Colombian international. Liverpool could demand a fee of around €80m [£69.2m] for Diaz.

The newspaper claims that it will be the ‘final’ offer from Bayern for Diaz. The Bavarian club could move to other targets if they fail to sign him.

Two factors which can work in Bayern’s favour

First, Barcelona, who were also keen to sign Diaz, are reportedly close to signing Marcus Rashford from Manchester United. That means the road is clear for Bayern to reach an agreement with the Reds.

Secondly, Liverpool are close to reaching an agreement for Hugo Ekitike. The Reds will take their spending to over £250m, and they would be more open to selling Diaz to balance the books.

If Bayern manage to reach an agreement with Diaz at the quoted price, the 28-year-old will become the third-most expensive signing in their history, after Harry Kane and Lucas Hernandez.
