Liverpool star could leave as Bayern get serious to sign ‘top-class’ attacker – report

Bayern Munich are showing keen interest in signing Nick Woltemade, but they still want another “top-class” winger this summer. 

Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo has been linked with a move, but it appears that Bayern are interested in signing Reds winger Luis Diaz as well.

Diaz has a contract at Anfield until 2027, and he would be open to leaving Liverpool if the right offer comes his way.

Bayern Munich eye move for Luis Diaz

In June, Christian Falk exclusively reported that, along with Gakpo, the German champions have also turned their gaze to Colombian winger Luis Diaz.

Diaz joined Liverpool in the January transfer window of 2022, and he has been a key player for the club. He has scored 41 goals in 148 games for Liverpool, including 17 goals in all competitions last season.

La Liga giants Barcelona are also keen to sign Diaz, but it appears Bayern have added him to their shortlist.

According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern have “gathered information” about the 28-year-old winger. However, they have not held talks with Liverpool.

While Diaz remains on their list, Bayern are continuing to assess more options.

Should Bayern look to sign Luis Diaz?

Diaz has the pace, trickery, and experience to shine in the Bundesliga. He can score and create chances for his teammates.

Liverpool would likely demand a massive transfer fee for him, and Bayern would need to consider several factors before making an offer.

Diaz will be 30 in two years’ time, and surely he does not fit into the club’s long-term vision. The likes of Bradley Barcola and Nico Williams would be a dream signing for the club, and investing in them makes a lot more sense.

On the other hand, Diaz is playing at the peak of his form, and he can be a big part of Bayern’s future success in the next few years.
