Luis Diaz sends message to Bayern Munich fans on Instagram

Luis Diaz has shared a brilliant message to Bayern Munich fans on Instagram after completing his move to the German club.

Bayern confirmed the signing of Diaz from Liverpool on Wednesday. The Colombian winger also took his first training session under Vincent Kompany.

Diaz has signed a four-year contract until 2029 in a deal worth €75m [£65.6m].

Bayern finally got their desired target

Liverpool initially rejected two offers from Bayern for Diaz, but their stance ultimately softened.

Diaz remained professional throughout his time at the club and gave his best last season, scoring 17 goals in all competitions.

However, after several contract extension talks broke down, he decided to move on. His agent had been pushing for the move, and finally, the transfer was sealed.

Bayern badly needed to sign a new winger this summer, and as per The Athletic, they feel he was the best attacker available to them.

The Bundesliga giants believe his pressing abilities and adaptability would be perfect for the current system, which is why Bayern did not hesitate to make him the third most expensive signing in German football history.

Bayern previously made a transfer mess when they signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool. However, Diaz’s situation is different. Mane was beyond his best years when he arrived, but Diaz is in his prime.

Moreover, unlike Mane, who was used to replace Robert Lewandowski in a transitional attack, Diaz has a pre-defined role in the team.

Luis Diaz pens brilliant message

After delivering a heartfelt message to the Liverpool fans where he vowed to keep the good memories, and especially of Diogo Jota, he posted another message for the Bayern supporters.

He wrote: “It’s a pleasure to be part of such a great club with so much history. I’m very grateful and happy to join you all, and I feel the same enthusiasm today as I did when I was just starting my career.

“My journey has been wonderful, and I never thought, when I was just a boy from Barrancas, that I would go this far. I don’t want to stop here, and I’m certain there’s still much to do and achieve.

“You can be sure of one thing: I will give my best to help Bayern achieve all its dreams.”
