Bayern Munich are expected to submit an ‘important’ offer to Liverpool to sign Colombian winger Luis Diaz.
The German giants are desperate to land a new winger this summer and have already had two bids for Diaz rejected.
While they will attempt to reach Liverpool’s asking price, Bayern may fall back on other options if Liverpool continue to reject offers.
Malick Fofana – could he be an option for Bayern Munich?
Earlier this month, RMC Sport reported that Bayern are showing keen interest in signing Olympique Lyon’s exciting winger Malick Fofana.
Also, The Independent reported that Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Fulham and Nottingham Forest have made contact to sign Fofana, who is valued at around £51.5m (€60m).
Fabrizio Romano previously confirmed that Bayern has made contact to sign the 20-year-old attacker. The transfer expert has said on his YouTube channel that Fofana could become a ‘strong’ option for Bayern if they fail to sign Diaz.
Interestingly, Liverpool could also make an effort to sign Fofana if they offload Diaz to Bayern.
The Reds are well-stocked in their attacking department. On top of that, they are looking to add Hugo Ekitike to their star-studded squad, but signing a winger could be a priority if Diaz leaves.
Liverpool are also likely to offload Federico Chiesa, while Harvey Elliott could also leave.
What are the other options for Bayern?
While Fofana is a highly exciting young talent, Bayern Munich are looking at experienced players who can contribute to the side immediately.
In recent weeks, the German champions have been linked with a move for Arsenal attacker Leandro Trossard, while also showing interest in his club teammate, Gabriel Martinelli.
Bayern also retain long-term interest in RB Leipzig attacker Xavi Simons, and the 22-year-old could become another option if they fail to land Diaz.
