Bayern Munich have been long-term admirers of RB Leipzig attacker Xavi Simons, but they could face competition from Chelsea.
The Blues have been very active in the transfer window and have already bolstered their forward areas by signing Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens.
Enzo Maresca could still look to add more players in the attacking department, especially if Chelsea manage to offload the likes of Raheem Sterling, Joao Felix, Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke.
How much do Bayern need to pay to sign Xavi Simons?

Madueke has been linked with a move to Arsenal, and as per Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners have agreed a fee in excess of £50m for the winger.
Bayern have been linked with a move for Nkunku, but they are only likely to move for him if they fail to sign Luis Diaz from Liverpool.
The German giants have already submitted an offer for Diaz, who is open to leaving Anfield in the summer transfer window.
The Athletic reported earlier this week that Bayern have enquired about signing Simons, who has informed Leipzig that he wants to leave the club.
The 22-year-old is widely regarded as one of Europe’s top talents, and he believes that he is ready to take the next step in his career.
According to Sky Germany, Max Eberl shares a strong relationship with Simons and his agent-brother. While there have been no new talks over a potential move, Simmons can leave the club for around £70m, but Leipzig realistically could accept an offer in the region of £60m.
Simons would be terrific for Bayern Munich or Chelsea
The French attacker scored 10 goals in 25 Bundesliga appearances last season.
Simons permanently joined Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain for €50m [£43m] in January 2025, but he could leave the German club this summer after they failed to secure European football last season.
He can play in multiple positions, but he is most effective playing either on the right or in the central attacking midfield role.
Chelsea need to offload some of their first-team players who participated in the Conference League last season in order to register new players.
Ideally, Simons would be perfect for Bayern, considering his age and potential, but as of now, they have not made any offers.
