Bayern Munich could reportedly miss out on signing Chelsea defender Renato Veiga.
The 21-year-old joined Chelsea from FC Basel in the summer of 2024, but he is not in Enzo Maresca’s long-term plans.
The versatile defender, who can also play as a defensive midfielder, joined last season on loan at Juventus, and he is expected to leave Stamford Bridge permanently.
Bayern fans will be disappointed with Renato Veiga update

Fabrizio Romano reported earlier this month that Bayern had earmarked Veiga as an option in defence, in case they sell Kim Min-jae.
German newspaper Bild added that Bayern may need to pay a fee of around £30m to sign Veiga, who they consider as someone with “tremendous potential”.
Christian Falk informed CFBayern last week that the Chelsea duo – Veiga and Malo Gusto – are both on Bayern’s radar, but they can only arrive if Bayern sell some of their unwanted players.
Florian Plettenberg now claims that Bayern could miss out on the Portuguese defender.
The Sky Germany journalist claims that Veiga has emerged as a ‘concrete’ option for La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.
The Rojiblancos have held talks with the player’s camp, and so far they have received positive results. Veiga is open to a move to Atletico, but more clubs have now joined the race.
Bayern Munich focusing on other targets
It appears that Bayern do have an interest in Veiga, but they are currently unable to focus on anything other than signing Luis Diaz from Liverpool.
Signing a new winger has become a priority for them. If they fail to sign Diaz, they may have to move to other options in attacking areas.
With Bayern failing to do multiple deals simultaneously, this has opened up opportunities for other clubs to lure their targets away.
