Tottenham Hotspur have already signed Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich on a permanent deal, and they could make an attempt to sign Joao Palhinha as well.
Spurs are looking to spend heavily in the transfer market after they secured Champions League football last season by winning the Europa League.
Tottenham are looking to sign a No 6. this summer, and Palhinha has emerged as a potential target. They have reportedly held talks with the midfielder.
Tottenham eye loan move for Palhinha?

Christian Falk told CFBayern that Bayern are willing to cut their losses after Palhinha failed to make an impact under Vincent Kompany. He wasn’t used properly in the Club World Cup, and his exit looks inevitable
It was suggested that if Palhinha leaves, the German champions would turn their attention towards Renato Veiga. But it appears that Veiga could be on his way to Atletico Madrid.
The Bild journalist said: “Arsenal made a concrete approach for João Palhinha, as we exclusively reported on CF Bayern Insider on Thursday.
“So there’s still the possibility of selling him this summer. The price is going down and down – €25m [£21.6m], perhaps €30m [£25.9m], but that’s it. Bayern Munich want to sell him. If he leaves, it’s also a chance for the club to go for Renato Veiga.”
TBR Football reported that Tottenham had held a fresh round of talks with Palhinha in the past few days.
The former Fulham midfielder remains an active option for Spurs. According to a report from The Athletic, Spurs are only willing to sign Palhinha on loan, rather than on a permanent deal.
Should Bayern entertain a loan move for Palhinha?
The Portuguese midfielder wants to fight for his place at Bayern, and there’s no point sending him out on loan.
Palhinha can be a handy squad player. Max Eberl hailed him as an “exceptional” character when he joined, and it would be a waste of money if Bayern fail to offload him permanently.
Tottenham are ready to sell Yves Bissouma this summer, and Palhinha on loan as a replacement would be a terrific piece of business.

Tel was a complete waste of money. Levy supposed to be so shrewd, spending anything on Tel was a waste. What did he do last season to warrant a permanent move? The guy is useless.
Narr thanks. Spurs were fools for buying Tel, that exact same money should have been put towards Eze who is much better, already proven in the toughest league in the world and on top of that is English so counts for home grown talents. Tel is… unconfident over priced wannabie. Palhinha just brings the exact same attitude. Spurs will win NOTHING with players like Tel and Palhinha joining the team and bringing down the average skill level and team work.
Levy is Levy and whilst he is at the helm, we will never challenge for the title etc . How’s does spurs compare with other ambitious like Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea who have spent heavily. We will be left further behind the big clubs. Levy does not back his managers and when as a consequence they fail , he scapegoats them an appoints a new manager. Levy is clearly the reason Spurs don’t challenge the big clubs for the title which we haven’t won since 1962. Levy is a complete joke.
