Bayern Munich will look to maintain their winning run in the 2025-26 Bundesliga season when they face hosts Augsburg at WWK Arena.
The German champions opened their new campaign with the thumping 6-0 win over RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena, whereas Augsburg defeated Freiburg 3-1 away from home in their first game.
Bayern are heading to this game on the back of a hard-fought 3-2 win over Hesse-based Wehen Wiesbaden in the German Cup.
Augsburg vs Bayern Munich: preview

Augsburg moved in a fresh direction this summer after they finished 12th in the Bundesliga last season. They needed to make a change after losing their final four games in the league in 2024-25, and only picked up one win in their last eight matches.
They have taken a big gamble by appointing Sandro Wagner as their new head coach. This is Wagner’s first-ever job as head coach of a professional side, after he previously worked as an assistant for Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann.
Their record against Bayern has been dismal, having lost their last six meetings and conceded at least three goals in each of them.
Fuggerstadter won 2-0 against Hallescher in the DFB-Pokal in August, and Wagner’s side will be aiming to cause an early upset this weekend.
Bayern, on the other hand, were ruthless against Leipzig, with Harry Kane scoring a hat-trick.
Michael Olise was superb in the opening game, while Serge Gnabry also impressed, along with new signing Luis Diaz.
The Bavarian giants are still looking to add more quality players to their ranks before the end of the window, but they can only bring players on loan.
The visitors are unbeaten away from home in their last 12 matches, and Vincent Kompany will be hoping to maintain their impressive run.

Augsburg vs Bayern Munich: team news
Augsburg will be without their striker, Samuel Essende, who is suspended for one more game following his red card in the final match of the 2024-25 season.
Kompany has confirmed that he has no fresh injury worries at the moment, and therefore, he is unlikely to make any significant changes to the side that won against Leipzig.
This means Jonathan Tah is likely to start alongside Dayot Upamecano once again, although Kim Min-jae could get some minutes later on.
Augsburg predicted starting lineup: Dahmen; Matsima, Gouweleeuw, Schlotterbeck; Wolf, Fellhauer, Jakic, Massengo, Giannoulis; Komur, Saad
Bayern Munich predicted starting lineup: Neuer; Laimer, Upamecano, Tah, Stanisic; Kimmich, Goretzka; Gnabry, Olise, Diaz; Kane.
