Harry Kane makes Bayern transfer stance clear amid Uli Hoeneß bombshell

Uli Hoeneß has suggested that Bayern will be involved in no further permanent transfers this summer.

At the very least, as far as potential additional incomings in the transfer window are concerned.

Max Eberl and FC Bayern’s recruitment team have instead been urged to look to the loans market should Vincent Kompany’s squad require further reinforcements.

The reigning Bundesliga champions have already landed Luis Diaz, Jonathan Tah and Tom Bischof.

Bayern’s supervisory board appears to have laid down the law when it comes to the summer transfer window.

Hoeneß’s instruction to pursue loan deals will, one might reasonably imagine, have left Eberl and Christoph Freund a little confused regarding the summer’s objectives.

“I would strongly recommend adding a loan player who is tied until June 30th 2026,” the 73-year-old told Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Whether this sudden and stark development will see Bundesliga fans flock to betting sites to back Bayern Munich’s rivals in the German top-flight this summer remains to be seen.

Ultimately, the Bavarian giants do arguably still have the best squad in the league.

However, there can be no question that the numbers available to head coach Vincent Kompany are looking a little sparser than need be.

Harry Kane expresses concerns of the Bayern fanbase

It’s hard to imagine the Bayern squad feeling particularly optimistic about this change in strategy.

Harry Kane has already expressed some concern over the lack of bodies in the building ahead of the 2025/26 season resuming.

“It’s probably one of the smallest squads I’ve ever played in,” the England international told Goal.

“There’s still time until the transfer window closes and decisions could be made by [executive board member for sport] Max Eberl, [sporting director] Christoph [Freund], and the coach.

“We have some young players who have done very well in preseason. We’re a bit thin, but that’s not in the players’ control.”

Whether those concerns are also being communicated privately to the supervisory board, of course, remains to be seen.

FC Bayern may still have the strongest squad in the division, but there have to be serious concerns over the club’s ability to compete effectively in the Champions League.

After such a disappointing finish to the prior term’s European campaign, fans will have been hoping for more.

Where are Bayern short?

Luis Diaz is a superb addition to the starting-XI following Leroy Sané’s free transfer switch to Galatasaray.

However, options are starting to look a little bit bare with Kingsley Coman having traded the Allianz Arena for life in the Saudi Pro League.

Likewise, a long-term injury to Jamal Musiala is currently leaving FC Bayern a little light in central attacking spaces.
