Bayern Munich defender Tarek Buchmann will join Nurnberg on loan

Bayern Munich youngster Tarek Buchmann will join Nurnberg on loan for the 2025-26 season.

The 20-year-old is a highly rated young talent who has come through the academy ranks at the club.

The German champions believe he requires regular game time this season, and a loan move would be highly beneficial for him.

Christian Falk informed CFBayern that Bayern and Nurnberg have reached an agreement for the young defender’s transfer.

The youngster will sign a contract extension at Bayern until 2027 and then join Nurnberg on a season-long loan.

The Bundesliga 2 club do not have the option to buy him permanently after the loan spell.

Florian Plettenberg claimed that Miroslav Klose and Joti Chatzialexiou were pushing for the move and had successful talks with Christoph Freund and Max Eberl.

The medical is scheduled on Tuesday, and the player is expected to complete his move today.

Klose, the head coach of Nurnberg, knows Buchmann very well from his time at Bayern.

Several Bundesliga 2 clubs are interested in signing the young centre-back, but it is Nurnberg who are particularly keen.

Good move for Buchmann

The youngster has already said goodbye to his teammates at Bayern, and it will be a good move for him.

Freund said (h/t @iMiaSanMia): “Tarek has everything he needs to establish himself in the professional team. Unfortunately, he’s been hit hard by injuries over the past two years, so we were all very pleased that he made his comeback in the first few games of the Regionalliga season.

“Now he’ll have the opportunity to gain valuable match practice with 1. FC Nürnberg in the second division. Tarek has a great character and should now take his next steps. FC Bayern will support him closely.”

He picked up a shoulder injury in the reserve match against Würzburg last season, and needed surgery.

Since the start of 2022-23, the youngster has missed loads of action through a series of injuries. Bayern have made the right decision to extend his contract, and they can integrate him into the squad next season if he enjoys a fantastic loan spell.

Last week, Tottenham Hotspur confirmed the signing of Joao Palhinha on loan, while Adam Aznou has moved to Everton after signing a four-year deal with the Toffees.
