Tottenham Hotspur will face Bayern Munich in a challenging pre-season match at the Allianz Arena on Thursday.
The Bundesliga 2025-26 season will start a week later than the Premier League, and it will be a good opportunity for the players to prepare well.
Spurs signed Joao Palhinha last week from Bayern on loan, while they also added Mathys Tel permanently from the German champions.
Bayern v Tottenham: preview

Bayern took part in the Club World Cup tournament in the United States, where they were beaten in the quarter-finals by Paris Saint-Germain.
It is a match they would like to forget as the defeat was overshadowed by the awful injury suffered by Jamal Musiala, which will keep him out for a few months at least.
Bayern defeated Lyon 2-1 in their first preseason friendly, and they will be looking to do well against Spurs as well.
This has been a frustrating summer transfer window for Bayern as they failed to land some of their top targets. In the end, they managed to bolster their attacking ranks by signing Luis Diaz from Liverpool.
Tottenham took a massive decision to sack Ange Postecoglou and appoint Thomas Frank this summer. Postecoglou helped Spurs win the Europa League, but he lost his job after a poor 2024-25 Premier League campaign, where they finished 17th in the table.
Spurs will be without their talisman skipper, Son Heung-Min, who is set to join Los Angeles FC after a ten-year stay in north London.
Frank’s side did beat Arsenal in the pre-season friendly in Hong Kong, but only managed draws against Wycombe Wanderers, Luton Town and Newcastle United.
Team News and predicted line-ups
For Bayern, Musiala is out of action, while Hiroki Ito and Alphonso Davies are also still sidelined.
Diaz is expected to start in a three-man attacking set-up alongside Harry Kane and Michael Olise.
Spurs will be without James Maddison for this game after the England midfielder picked up a nasty injury against Newcastle.
Palhinha and Tel could feature against their former club. Dejan Kulusevski and Radu Dragusin are still out injured.
Bayern Munich predicted starting lineup: Neuer; Boey, Upamecano, Tah, Guerreiro; Kimmich, Goretzka, Bischof; Olise, Kane, Diaz.
Tottenham Hotspur predicted starting lineup: Vicario; Pedro Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bentancur, Bissouma, Sarr; Johnson, Tel, Kudus.
Prediction: Bayern Munich 1-1 Tottenham.
