Liverpool handed Alexander Isak boost after journo shares Bayern Munich truth

Christian Falk has now confirmed that the sale of Luis Diaz to FC Bayern will help Liverpool with their pursuit of Alexander Isak.

The Merseysiders were understood to be hopeful of keeping the Colombian winger at the club.

However, with talks over a new contract breaking down, the Bundesliga champions successfully capitalised in the window to land the Premier League winner.

There’s no question that Diaz’s move to Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window is a blow to the Reds.

The 28-year-old comes off the back of a stellar 2024/25 campaign, with 25 goal contributions registered in 50 games (across all competitions).

The exit now leaves Arne Slot with Cody Gakpo as the only established left wing option. Albeit, as Empire of the Kop reported on Wednesday, there is a possibility for Hugo Ekitike to file out on the left flank as needed.

Such a move would certainly make sense from a squad-building perspective. That’s especially the case should Liverpool manage to utilise funds from the sale of Luis Diaz to sign Alexander Isak.

“I heard that Liverpool wants to put the money they earned from selling Luis Diaz towards a potential deal with Newcastle for Alexander Isak,” Christian Falk exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.

Bayern Munich transfer sees everyone win

It’s a win-win scenario for all involved. Liverpool get some funds back in the bank following major outlays for the likes of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.

Meanwhile, Bayern solve a problem position on the left flank following Leroy Sané’s free transfer switch to Galatasaray.

If Max Eberl and Co. can find a solution to get Nick Woltemade over the line, our squad depth is looking more than reasonable.

That’s still a big if, of course, whilst VfB Stuttgart continue to play hard ball over their biggest asset’s future.

With a club record fee on the line (and the player smitten with Munich), however, Bayern Munich still have time to test Markus Krösche’s resolve.

Let the transfer poker continue!
