Bayern Munich started their 2025-26 Champions League campaign on a high note with a thumping 3-2 win over Chelsea at the Allianz Arena.
Harry Kane scored twice on the night, as Bayern maintained their impressive winning start to the season. Cole Palmer scored for the visitor.
The England striker urged his teammates to make a strong start in this competition after what happened last season, and Vincent Kompany will be really pleased with what he saw.

Bayern Munich vs Chelsea: match report
After a cagey start, Chelsea came close to scoring inside seven minutes, but Konrad Laimer made a brilliant block to deny the visitors.
The home side took the lead inside 20 minutes when Trevoh Chalobah turned the ball into his own net, after failing to clear a fantastic cross from Michael Olise.
Seven minutes later, Bayern doubled the lead through Harry Kane, who scored from the spot, after Moises Caicedo clumsily heckled the England striker inside the box.
The Blues responded strongly two minutes later after Cole Palmer scored a cracking goal with his left foot from a delightful counter-attack.
Laimer got himself into a great shooting position inside the box after Olise found him with a delicious pass, but he could not keep his shot on target.
Luis Diaz showed his mazy skills to have a crack at goal after the break, but could only manage to hit straight at the keeper.
Kane nearly scored another with his left foot after Laimer found him rushing into the box, but Sanchez was equal to the task.
Olise should have finished the contest when he had the goal at his mercy after a magnificent work from Kane, but he managed to hit the keeper.
It did not take long for Kane to double the lead. A mistake from Chalobah resulted in Kane getting the loose ball inside the box and finishing it with great composure.
Here at CF Bayern Insider, we have rated the players out of 10.
Bayern Munich player ratings
The first XI
Manuel Neuer (7) – The German was not at fault for Chelsea’s goal, but he was not forced to make enough saves tonight.
Josip Stanisic (6) – Tidy performance, but as usual, he lacked forward movements. Vincent Kompany replaced him in the second half after he hurt his knees.
Jonathan Tah (4) – Picked up a yellow card in the first half, and did not look comfortable in the middle. Replaced at the break.
Dayot Upamecano (6) – Strong performance at the back, making some good clearances and interceptions.
Konrad Laimer (7) – Adventurous with his forward movements, he should have scored for the Bavarian giants today when presented with an opportunity.
Joshua Kimmich (6) – Tidy in midfield, but Bayern fans probably would want to see more from their midfielders. He looked stationary, with minimal movement.
Aleksandar Pavolic (6) – Steady performance in the middle, but lost possession nine times. Taken off after the hour mark.
Luis Diaz (7) – The former Liverpool winger was involved in two key passes, and his energy on the flanks was infectious. His passing was superb.
Serge Gnabry (6) – It comes as a big surprise that Gnabry stayed on for almost the entire game when he hardly made any significant contribution.
Michael Olise (8) – Another terrific performance, but the Frenchman should be frustrated after failing to score from a close range from a superb pass from Kane.
Harry Kane (9) – What a season he is having so far! It is not just the goals that define him, but his overall movement and involvement in almost every attack make him such a threat. The second goal was absolutely world-class.
