Bayern Munich are interested in signing Dutch defender Givairo Read.
The Feyenoord right-back is seen as one of the hottest prospects in European football at the moment, and Bayern have taken a keen interest.
Bayern are unlikely to do business in the winter transfer window, but they could make a serious attempt for Read next summer.
Givairo Read – transfer latest

Feyenoord signed Read for their academy in 2023 before promoting him to the senior squad.
Last season, he made 33 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals. In the 2025-26 campaign, he has already made 14 appearances in all competitions, which demonstrates the high regard in which the Rotterdam club hold him.
Bayern’s chief scout, Nils Schmadtke and his assistant, André Hechelmann, were in the stands at Stuttgart’s MHP Arena for the Europa League match between VfB Stuttgart and Feyenoord recently to watch the full-back’s performance.
Read extended his contract in Rotterdam until 2029 in April, and his market value is around €20m-€30m (£16.63m – £26m); however, the price could increase to around £30m.
In Holland, De Telegraaf claim that Arsenal and Manchester City are also in the race for the young defender, but we cannot confirm that at the moment.
Could Givairo Read be an option for Bayern?
Bayern are well-stocked in their full-back areas – they have Konrad Laimer, Josip Stanisic, and Sacha Boey as three right-backs.
Laimer has been outstanding for Bayern this season, while Stanisic has been mostly used as a left-back by Vincent Kompany.
However, the future of Boey is far from certain. The 25-year-old right-back has made nine appearances in the Bundesliga, starting in five of them, but he has not been able to make a strong impression.
Moreover, Boey has lost his place in the starting XI following the return of Stanisic from injury, and there are suggestions that he might be sold in the January window or next summer.
In that case, Bayern could move for Read as his potential replacement.
