Jamie Gittens looks increasingly set to depart Borussia Dortmund in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Florian Plettenberg relayed an update from Sky’s Patrick Berger confirming the Englishman ‘wants to leave’ the Bundesliga outfit at the end of the 2024/25 season.
The 20-year-old forward has registered 16 goal contributions (12 goals and four assists) in 42 games (across all competitions) this season.
Bayern could sign Jamie Gittens

The Sky Germany reporter shared the update in question on X (formerly Twitter) at a time when BVB sat eighth in the Bundesliga table.
Only five points separate Dortmund from Mainz in fourth (and a Champions League place). It’s understood that Niko Kovac’s men will be forced into some sales this summer should they fall short of Europe’s premier competition this term.
In this case, FC Bayern could be one of several clubs ready to stand in line to compete for Gittens’ services in the summer.

A number of Premier League clubs, including the ever-linked Liverpool, could yet throw their hat into the ring.
It all depends, of course, on how the Merseysiders handle the left side of their forward line amid ongoing links between Luis Diaz and Barcelona.
A left winger transfer will be necessary
Bayern are reportedly prepared to offload several talents in a bid to address their inflated wage bill.
Serge Gnabry has been repeatedly linked with a summer exit and fellow left-sided winger Kingsley Coman is likewise expected to follow suit.
In this case, we’d expect Christoph Freund and our recruitment team to reinforce an area that could be heavily depleted.
For the time being, Luis Henrique appears to be the more appreciated option as far as the left flank is concerned, if recent reports are to be taken as gospel.
The Marseille man hasn’t necessarily enjoyed more of a standout campaign by comparison, however, with 16 goal contributions amassed this season (albeit having played 138 minutes fewer).
In the end, it may all come down to whether the Premier League proves a more appealing escape route for Jamie Gittens over a move to the Allianz Arena.
