Bayern Munich are confident that they can secure the signing of Nicolas Jackson permanently from Chelsea next summer.
Jackson joined the Bavarian giants on loan from Chelsea on transfer deadline day, with Bayern having the option to sign him permanently.
The 24-year-old has a contract at Chelsea until 2023, but he may not be keen to return to Stamford Bridge, as his relationship with Enzo Maresca has not been smooth.
Bayern waited late to sign Jackson

Jackson contributed 30 goals and 12 assists from 81 games for Chelsea, but he dropped down the pecking order following the arrival of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.
He looked all set to move to Bayern and landed in Germany for his medical, but then Chelsea took a U-turn and recalled him after Delap got injured.
Jackson and his agent refused to return, and Bayern renegotiated a deal with Chelsea to sign him. The German champions paid a loan fee of £14.3m, and they have an obligation to pay £56.2m should they acquire his services on a full-time basis.
The Senegal striker has made only one start so far, and he must start 40 games for Bayern to trigger the clause, and that looks highly unlikely.
What Bayern are planning to do with Jackson
Bayern’s outspoken honorary president, Uli Hoeneß, recently stated that Jackson will not start 40 games, but Vincent Kompany appears to be paying little attention to boardroom politics.
Kompany is only interested in his team and what happens in the dressing room and on the pitch. According to a report from Bild, Bayern have already negotiated a five-year deal with Jackson, and even if he does not get 40 games, Bayern can trigger his clause in mid-May.
The report claims that Bayern negotiated with Jackson first, so that other suitors would not enter the fray. The Bavarian giants can renegotiate a deal with Chelsea to lower the price.
