Bayern Munich maintained their perfect start to their 2025-26 season by winning 5-1 against Pafos FC away in Cyprus on Tuesday night in the Champions League.
Harry Kane scored twice on the night at the Alphamega Stadium, while Michael Olise produced another stunning performance.
Nicolas Jackson has opened his scoring account since joining from Chelsea on loan. Here are five major talking points from the game.
Are Bayern the best team in Europe at the moment?

Bayern are the only side in Europe’s top five leagues with a perfect start to the season. After Napoli, Real Madrid, and Liverpool all lost their recent games, it was left to Bayern to maintain their impressive form. The German giants have been dominant in the Bundesliga and have carried this form forward into Europe as well. What has been most impressive is that they have been playing with so much control and flair. It is no fluke that they have scored three or more goals in every game they have played this season. On form, Bayern have to be the best team in Europe right now.
Harry Kane can break all records this season
Another game. Another brace. Harry Kane is in a league of his own. He became the first player to score the fastest 100 goals for a club last week, and it seems he would score at every opportunity. The best part about Kane is that, apart from scoring, he drops deep and plays out long diagonal balls, expanding the game out wide. He has the guile and vision to pick smart passes in the box, and he nearly had two assists as well on Tuesday night. Kane, with 17 goals already, is enjoying the form of his life. If he continues his scoring form, he can break all records in the Bundesliga this season.
Vincent Kompany rotating his squad nicely
Bayern Munich has a relatively small squad, and Kompany is doing his best to rotate his players properly to keep them fresh and the dressing room happy. He made five changes to the side that defeated Werder Bremen 4-0 last week, and yet there was no drop in quality. In Lennart Karl and Tom Bischof, he has two cracking young players who are more than ready to step up and start games, and it has already made a big difference.
Nicolas Jackson finally scores for Bayern
Bayern paid a handsome transfer fee to sign Jackson on loan from Chelsea, and they might take the option of signing him permanently next summer if conditions are met. On pitch, this is Jackson’s best performance so far. His confidence was lifted after he provided the assist for Raphael Guerreiro’s goal. The Senegal striker then scored a fantastic goal after Olise found him inside the box with a clever pass. Jackson nearly scored another towards the end of the match, but it only hit the crossbar. Bayern have been reportedly linked with a move for Dusan Vlahovic this week, but a potential permanent move for Jackson cannot be ruled out.
Michael Olise oozes class once again
Just how good was Olise last night? He was outstanding for the Bavarian giants last season since moving from Crystal Palace, and has taken his game to another gear in 2025-26. He was a constant threat on the right-hand side, and the Pafos defenders had no clue how to deal with him. The Frenchman provided two assists and scored one fantastic goal to cap off another memorable performance. After the match, Jan-Christian Dreesen said: “I’m convinced of that. Given how Olise has developed and performed with us so far, that’s absolutely realistic.” We also believe that Olise can win the Ballon d’Or next year.
